Summer Productions Presents SMEG & Dolce & Gabbana Blu Mediterraneo Collection With Inspiration from Jean Dubuffet’s Hourloupe series.

Step into a world where art meets function, where the bold, interwoven lines of Jean Dubuffet’s Hourloupe series collide with the vibrant hues of SMEG’s Dolce & Gabbana Blu Mediterraneo collection. Takashimaya’s stage transforms into an immersive artistic display—an energetic dance of colours, patterns, and shapes that celebrate the warmth of the Mediterranean and the spirit of contemporary creativity.

Drawing inspiration from Dubuffet’s signature style, the space will be enveloped in a tapestry of fluid, puzzle-like forms in a dynamic interplay of deep blues, crisp whites, and sun-kissed yellows—echoing the hand-painted majolica motifs of the Blu Mediterraneo collection. The striking contrast between Dubuffet’s raw, expressive linework and the refined elegance of SMEG’s appliances creates a surreal yet sophisticated harmony, a fusion of high art and everyday luxury.

At the heart of this installation, SMEG’s exquisite kitchen appliances—adorned in Dolce & Gabbana’s intricate ceramic-inspired patterns—take centre stage, presented as functional works of art. Set against sculptural elements that mimic the flowing, fragmented aesthetic of Hourloupe, each piece is illuminated as a jewel of Italian craftsmanship, a nod to heritage and innovation.

This display is more than an exhibition; it is an invitation to step into an imaginative summer reverie, where the lines between art, design, and lifestyle blur into a single, mesmerizing tableau.

A Premium Display of “Sicily Is My Love” & “Blu Mediterraneo” Collections

This summer, Takashimaya Basement 1 becomes the ultimate destination for Italian artistry and design, celebrating the fusion of SMEG’s innovative craftsmanship and Dolce & Gabbana’s rich heritage. With a display that embodies the vibrant energy of Sicily Is My Love and the serene elegance of Blu Mediterraneo, the space will transport visitors to the heart of the Mediterranean.

LAYOUT CONCEPT & DESIGN
The display will be divided into two key zones, creating an immersive and visually dynamic shopping experience:

A split showcase designed to contrast the two collections while maintaining a seamless flow:
• Left Side: “Sicily Is My Love” Collection
• Warm hues of red, gold, and citrus yellow.
• Appliances displayed on elevated Sicilian market-style carts
• Right Side: “Blu Mediterraneo” Collection
• A serene blue and white color scheme, resembling the Amalfi Coast.
• Appliances displayed on white pedestals.
